Land Reclamation
Sand and gravel mining, as well as kaolin
mining, has become more commonly viewed as a temporary land
use that can be reclaimed into a new use once the suitable
material has been extracted. By utilizing the proper reclamation
techniques, these reclaimed sites can provide new, and at
times, better habitat for many species of wildlife, as well
as favorable sites for construction or recreational enjoyment.
Through the years, Northern Con-Agg has successfully reclaimed
exhausted mine sites into useable croplands, wetlands, wildlife
areas and recreational water ponds.
