Kaolin Clay Mining

The kaolin clay mined by Northern Con-Agg is used for its unique chemical properties. Typically located along the Minnesota River Valley, the majority of Minnesota kaolin clays were formed in place, due to the weathering of feldspar-rich rocks. The kaolin clay mined by Northern Con-Agg is primarily used as a raw material in cement manufacturing, however, the potential for additional uses include plastics, adhesives, rubber, paint, ceramics, and bricks.
